'In 2015, Hitachi revamped its R&D organization for global promotion of customer-driven R&D. Its Global Center for Social Innovation, of which there are four overseas centers, are the executive organizations for such “collaborative creation with customers.” The efforts of the Global Center for Social Innovation toward creating innovation that responds to social issues around the world have begun to show concrete results in various fields, including energy, transportation, healthcare, urban issues, and manufacturing.
